Roofing systems Single Ply Systems Roofing membranes that are applied in one layer. They come in five basic types; Ballasted, Fully-Adhered, Mechanically-Fastened, Partially- Adhered and Self-Adhered. The two major membrane types are EPDM and TPO:
Built up Roofing Systems A continuous, semi-flexible roof membrane assembly, consisting of piles of saturated felts, coated felts, fabrics or mats between which alternate layers of bitumen are applied, generally surfaced with mineral aggregate, bituminous materials, or a granule surfaced roofing sheet. Also know as BUR. Metal Roofing Systems Standing-seam metal roofs are used with many types of high-pitched expanses of roof that can be enhanced with strong definition of the architectural lines. In addition, standing-seam installation is sometimes easier than other roofing styles. Standing-seam metal sheets go through a roll-forming process to create the panels. The roll-formed panels are custom cut to the specific lengths of the roofs. Because they are custom cut, the product is usually special-ordered for each job. Roof Coatings Roof coatings can be applied to almost any roofing system and offer several benefits such as extended roof life, energy savings and decreased pollution. Coating reflects at least 68 percent of the sun's
energy after three years, which is 30 percent higher than the minimum
initial and aged reflectance requirements of the Environmental Protection
Agency's Energy Star program. |
